An Absent Mudhif – Experimental Process explores the traditional architecture of Iraq’s Marsh Arabs through material experimentation with reeds and palm leaves. Drawing from generations of craftsmanship, the work investigates the relationship between natural materials, construction techniques, and cultural identity.
As water depletion threatens the Iraqi marshlands and their architectural traditions, the project reflects on the fragility of this heritage, highlighting resilience, environmental change, and the preservation of Indigenous knowledge.
