Walls of Remembrance is an architectural installation that explores memory, displacement, and the traces of childhood shaped by conflict and loss. Through three concrete walls, the work reflects on personal and collective memories, transforming architecture into a space for storytelling and remembrance.
The installation tells stories of an interrupted childhood, fading Asrooneya (Asrooniyah) rituals, and echoes of Iraqi folklore songs such as “Marina Bekom Hamad.” By merging the weight of concrete with the ephemeral nature of sound and story, the work serves as both an archive of erasure and a testament to resilience.
The project was presented as part of the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025, within the Time Space Existence exhibition.
